IT AMAZES ME THE WAY WE, MOTHERS, ARE ‘DESIGNED’ – WITH WIDER HIPS AND SMALLER WAISTS –
FOR US TO BE ABLE TO COMFORTABLY REST OUR BABY ON OUR SKIN AND CARRY THEM
THROUGH THEIR CHILDHOOD AND THE WONDERS OF THIS WORLD FEELING CLOSE AND SAFE
One thing that really changes after the birth (apart from the obvious of course!) is YOUR ARMS. Suddenly you turn from someone who probably doesn’t give a lot of thought to one’s hands or arms into someone whose hands are rarely experiencing the luxury of being free or unneeded. Babywearing is a beautiful solution for becoming more capable to take care of yourself and the world around you. You do this without compromising your baby’s comfort, needs, or the attachment between you and your baby.
If we try to imagine things from a newborn child’s perception – birth may be a pretty rapid change of habitat. From the watery, warm, wavy and soft bubble in which your baby lived for nearly 10 months, feeling cuddled, constant touch, connection, hearing your voice, your blood flow and your heart beat – wearing your baby skin to skin is the closest recreation of first months of life in the safety of the womb. Babywearing can make the baby’s journey of adapting to these new sensations and different environments, that contrary to the womb are dry and smell different, much more familiar and cozy. Babywearing radiates and positively influences the baby’s calmness.
You will learn the correct slinging technique which supports your baby’s physiological development along with relieving your pelvic floor and back muscles and most importantly gives you the use of your hands. We will go through the best way to implement baby wearing in your family and adjust it to your needs, your routines, other family members, etc. We will talk about different steps of physical development and how can we support our baby, what not to do and what to pay more attention to. As a babywearing parent, I am also happy to share my experiences with you.

“Monika is an amazing teacher. I can honestly say that thanks to her we did not give up on the sling idea. We thought we knew how to wrap the sling but our newborn daughter very soon let us know that we didn’t. We then reached for Monika’s advice and training and not only did she show us how to use the sling properly but also shared various tricks on how to calm the baby, she explained different possible reasons it didn’t work at the very beginning and gave us tons of motivation to keep trying. All with unlimited patience and commitment. And it worked magic! When I gave it another go after a few days I remembered every step, I was much more confident and our daughter was much happier. After 4 weeks we all love it and we use the sling not only to move around but to calm her down and put her to sleep.”

“As a “fresh” father I can fully recommend Monika as a babywearing instructor. Our newborn daughter had a hard time getting comfortable with a sling and with my wife we were on the verge of giving up. Home workshop with Monika was a game changer. She was a gentle, yet strong guide who, after giving us a little bit of theory, focused on practice. She visited us prepared with different kinds of slings and a doll to practice on. After a few hours of training, we felt way more comfortable and ready for giving the sling another try. With time our little daughter learned to love the sling and we think Monika’s workshop played a huge part in this process. She was opened to our questions and offered advice also in the time after the workshop. On top of this, Monika has great energy and sense of humor, which eases the stress of moving from doll to baby training 🙂 Thank you!”
